Impact Resistant

The high-energy absorption properties of Toray's composite materials facilitate a highly optimized, lightweight solution for crash structures. In fact, our composite material portfolio includes Federation Internationale de L’Automobile-approved materials for use within crash impact structures and mechanically demanding structural applications.

Energy Absorbing

Today's F1 race cars must withstand strict standards for impact resistance and energy absorption. Toray's materials are designed to minimize the effect of crashes on driver occupants by absorbing the impact as it slows the vehicle.

Ease of Lamination and Handling

Bondable to Core

Material Formats

Toray thermoset materials are available in high-strength, intermediate, and high-modulus carbon fibers. In addition, glass and aramid fibers are available as uni-directional tapes, woven fabrics, and multi-axial (NCF) reinforcements.

Uni-directional Tapes & Prepregs

Our full suite of products from low to high temperature curing prepregs are utilized within motorsport. Toray thermoset materials are available in high-strength, intermediate, and high-modulus carbon fibers.

Core Materials

One of the largest providers of honeycomb in Western Europe, Toray is a value added provider, stocking and cutting core to customer-requested thickness. We carry aluminum and honeycomb core for both aerospace and commercial applications.

Composite Tooling Prepregs

With over 20 years of pedigree in high-performance motorsport, the Toray AmberTool^® family of tooling prepregs cures at low temperatures, allowing for high-quality composite tooling production from low-cost master patterns.
