Innovative Materials for Aircraft Interiors

At Toray Advanced Composites, we are changing the future of the aerospace interiors industry. Our suite of lightweight thermoplastic and thermoset products are designed to meet highly demanding applications inside an aircraft while contributing to an aesthetic and comfortable atmosphere.

And because environmental responsibility is one of our core values, we achieve this without the environmental hazards that accompany traditional epoxy and phenolic-based materials. Yet our materials continue to meet fire, smoke, and toxicity (FST) safety requirements. With Toray, the future of the aerospace interiors market is cleaner than ever.

From service carts and storage bins to cabin linings, seat structures, and flooring, Toray Cetex® thermoplastic composites, reinforced with glass or carbon fibers, provide the results you need for your aircraft interior design.

    Storage Bins & Service Carts

In an industry where weight and impact performance is paramount, Toray Cetex® is the ultimate solution. Exceptionally durable and lightweight for hard-wearing cart and bin surfaces, we also offer an embedded color, eliminating secondary painting and finishing requirements.

    Ducting

For ultimate flow rate performance, Toray Cetex® thermoplastics offers the lowest porosity levels in the lightest materials available. Used in low pressures systems across the world, our laminate systems are rolled and seam welded for maximum efficiency.

    Seat Structures

Capable of fast manufacturing cycles, Toray Cetex® thermoplastics are ideal for high-volume parts such as thermoformed seat structures, including back panels, seat pans, and arm rests. Materials can also be overmolded with features for process improvement and design integrity.

    Flooring

Manufactured in high volumes and prone to abuse, aircraft flooring demands exceptional resilience. Our hybrid system combines the best of lightweight thermoplastic and thermoset technology to deliver exceptional durability and longer service life.

    Galleys

High volume and wear applications such as galleys and dividers demand resilient low-maintenance performance. With Toray’s Cetex® thermoplastics with in-color and high moisture barrier technology, your design space now has new possibilities.

    Ceiling, Cabin, & Cargo Linings

Lightweight and exceptionally durable, Toray Cetex® offers near perfect demold performance, eliminating rework and maximizing efficiency for trim and large surfaces by minimizing post-processing (sand/sweep) operations.
